The Tampa Police Department released body camera footage showing a dramatic rescue by quick-thinking officers. A man approached the officers with a child who was choking on a tomato. The officers immediately took action, with one officer patting the boy on the back until he was able to spit out the food and breathe again.
The officers comforted the child, who was responsive and safe.
The TPD reminded the public that choking is often silent and requires immediate help if someone cannot speak, cough, or breathe.
