Amazon Driver Injured in Rattlesnake Bite Incident During Florida Delivery

Martin County, FL - An Amazon delivery driver has been listed in critical condition after a rattlesnake bit her during a routine delivery to a Florida residence on Monday.

The incident occurred as the deliverywoman placed a package next to the front door of the home on Monday evening.

Unexpectedly, an eastern diamondback snake emerged and bit her, causing immediate distress.

In response to the snakebite, the victim called for assistance and was transported to the hospital.

As of Tuesday, the woman's condition remained categorized as "very serious," with her identity and age remaining undisclosed.

Authorities managed to capture the snake, which was euthanized.

Eastern diamondback rattlesnakes are common in the Southeastern United States and are renowned as the largest species of rattlesnakes.

They typically reach lengths of about 4 to 7 feet.

According to toxinology.com, an eastern diamondback's bite has a fatality rate ranging from 10% to 20% when left untreated.
