TAMPA -- Hillsborough deputies charge a teenager in the shooting death of his mother, and release bodycam video from the arrest.
In the video, a deputy is seen pointing his weapon at the suspect, standing a couple of houses away. Sheriff Chad Chronister says the deputy stayed calm and talked down the teen, persuading him to surrender. 14-year-old Adeem Berry is charged with second-degree murder and attempted first degree murder. The wounded victim, a man, is now in stable condition. He had escaped to a neighbor's house before being taken to a hospital. Deputies say Berry was seen running around the neighborhood with his firearm.
Just a few hours after the shooting, Chronister told reporters that "this young boy's life is over too.. he will never see the outside of a detention facility."
We're told the shooting came during an argument but what led up to the gunfire is not clear.
