A man wearing a Tampa Bay Lightning shirt appeared to assault the Florida Panthers rat mascot during Monday night's game. The Lightning fan grabbed the mascot and pushed him while pulling his shirt over his head. The mascot's handler was standing nearby and didn't do anything to intervene. Neither police nor security were called to assist, sparking rumors that the incident may have been staged.
Another video seems to show Viktor throwing a white Lightning jersey at the ice. Could this have been what sparked the altercation?
According to the Florida Panthers, the incident was not staged and they have now launched an investigation to find out exactly what happened.
