Police Search Dump Connected to Disappearance of Missing Massachusetts Mom

Police in Massachusetts are now searching a trash transfer station and a dumpster that may be connected to the disappearance of Ana Walshe.

Walshe's husband, Brian Walshe, is currently in police custody after being arrested on Sunday and charged with misleading police with regard to the investigation into her disappearance.

He admitted to police that he spent time at his mother's apartment in Swampscott, just over an hour from his home in Cohasset, in the days after his wife went missing. Police tape now surrounds the waste disposal area at that apartment complex, and police believe a dumpster that may contain clues, was taken to the trash transfer station in nearby Peabody.

A search of the couple's home last week led to the discovery of blood in the basement and a blood-stained knife. Walshe had also allegedly done an online search for "how to dismember a 115 pound body."

Walshe initially told police that he last saw his wife in the early hours of New Year's Day when he claimed she left their home for the airport in an Uber. He said she was on her way to Washington, DC that day to deal with a work emergency.

On January 2, he purchased $450 worth of cleaning supplies and a tarp from Home Depot.

On January 4, Ana Walshe was reported missing by her co-workers in Washington, DC. Despite what her husband told police, her flight was scheduled for the 3rd, not the 1st, of January.

Brian Walshe allegedly gave several false statements to police and is now being held on $500,000 bail.
