Chuck E. Cheese Facing Backlash After Mascot Allegedly Ignores Black Child

Another famous mascot is under fire after an angry mother posted a video of the popular Chuck E. Cheese mascot high-fiving children and ignoring her 2-year-old Black daughter, who was reaching for a high-five.

The incident happened on July 30th at the Wayne, New Jersey location. The video, posted to Twitter, now has more than 3.5 million views.

Chuck E. Cheese has issued a statement.

“As home to millions of families and kids every year that celebrate the big and small milestones, including fun, our goal is to create an inclusive experience for children and parents of all ages, races, ethnicities, religious backgrounds and learning differences,” Chuck E. Cheese told News 12 New Jersey on Monday. “Our mission is to provide a fun and a safe place, and all cast members are trained to ensure that we live up to this promise.”
