Will you live a long prosperous life, or will you be gone within the next 7 years? This new test could help tell you that, according to a new study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine on Wednesday.
According to New York Post, researchers asked 1,702 Brazilians between the ages of 51 and 75 to undergo this brief physical test and subsequently tracked their health over the following years.
During this test, participants were asked to go barefoot and stand on one leg while keeping the other leg raised into the air, just like a flamingo would stand! Those taking the 'flamingo test' were also asked to hold their head upright and their arms straight to their side for the 10-second test.
Of the 1,702 participants who took it, 20% could not complete the test.

So, how does this go back to dying within the next 7 years?
After an average follow-up time of 7 years, 7% of the participants had passed away. 17.5% of people who did not pass the test were among those who had died, whereas 5% of those who passed the test.
