Pinellas County Deputy Fired Following DUI Arrest

ST. PETERSBURG -- A Pinellas sheriff's deputy lost her job after a DUI arrest in St. Petersburg early Tuesday morning.

The Pinellas Sheriff's Office says St. Pete police pulled over 26-year-old Shelby Coniglio around 1:00 a.m. at 4th Street and 108th Avenue North. Their report says Coniglio smelled of alcohol on her breath, had slurred speech, glassy eyes, a blank expression, and was unsteady on her feet. She also "performed poorly" on field sobriety tests, deputies said. A breath sample showed her BAC to be at least .206, more than twice the minimum for a DUI.

The sheriff says Coniglio was taken to jail and fired immediately per office policy.
