Florida Men Busted for Stealing $60,000 Worth of Gas

Unfortunately, the rising gas prices have made stealing fuel a much more popular crime. Hillsborough authorities just put a stop to a local fuel theft ring, arresting multiple people during the investigation.

According to Fox 13, Sheriff Chad Chronister said their investigation began in February after the agency received a phone call about two Circle K gas stations with "tremendous fuel discrepancies."

By the end of the investigation, seven individuals were arrested, one of which may have fled to Cuba.

Detectives in Hillsborough County say that at least $60,000 worth of gas was stolen.

The thieves would steal the gas by removing the pulsar device on a gas pump, inserting their device, pumping the gas, and taking it to one of two nearby locations, where the gas is immediately sold. They would re-sell the gas for around $3 a gallon, obviously much less than you currently pay at the pump.
