Disney is delivering on its promise of more diversity. Watch some of the top executives at Disney speak on some of the changes coming to the park as part of a "Reimagine Tomorrow" campaign.
Greetings like 'Ladies' 'Gentleman' or 'Boys' and 'Girls' will no longer be said to create a more welcoming environment for those who don't identify with traditional gender roles. The parks will also include more LGBTQIA characters in their stories and throughout the park. The website promises that 50 percent of regular and recurring characters across the Disney universe will come from "underrepresented groups.
Some of the changes have already been implemented at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Disney corporate president Karey Burke says, "as the mother [of] one transgender child and one pansexual child," she supports to move to have more LGBTQIA characters in their story.
In another video shared on Twitter by Christopher F. Rufo, Executive Producer, Latoya Raveneau says her team has implemented a "not-at-all-secret gay agenda" and is regularly "adding queerness" to children's programming.
