Another day, another TikTok challenge got teens in trouble. These Florida teens were recently arrested for taking part in the latest social media challenge.
A Citrus County teenager was arrested and charged this weekend after police say he shot Orbeez at people in Clearwater as part of the 'Orbeez Challenge' that police are warning teens NOT to participate in.
Clearwater police arrested 19-year-old Tommy Moore, Saturday evening after he was reportedly using a toy gun to shoot the water beads at people.
But Clearwater Police Department spokesman Rob Shaw told WFLA News Channel 8, toy or no toy, the recent Orbeez shootings are not a joke.
Moore plans to fight the charge and court and says being placed under arrest was too harsh of a punishment for using a toy gun.
A 17-year-old New Smyrna Beach High School student faces assault charges after hitting a school employee with gel beads and using a toy gun. The report said the female employee was repeatedly shot with the beads in the face.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said deputies identified the student involved and interviewed him the next day.
The teen says he was just playing around and trying to film a video for Snapchat when he shot at her. He was arrested for felony battery on a school employee.
