New Developments in Teen’s Tragic Fall From Florida Theme Park Ride

New developments have emerged involving a teen’s tragic fall from a theme park ride in Orlando, including video from the moments before the 14-year-old fell from the ride. The teen, identified as Tyre Sampson, was visiting from Missouri for Spring Break.

The Orlando Drop Tower located at Icon Park is the world’s tallest freestanding drop tower and just opened at the end of 2021.

The video, shared with Fox 35, has been edited due to its graphic nature.

Did Tyre's big size factor in amusement ride death?

Lawyers for Sampson's family are now investigating whether negligence about his size or other factors played a role in this unfortunate death. According to friends of the teen there, Tyre was denied access to different rides at the park earlier in the night due to his size.

Bob Hilliard, a Texas attorney who represents Tyre's mother, Nekia Dodd, says, "This is going to be an issue of a lack of supervision and lack of training. A straight-up negligence case."
