A New Bill Just Passed in the Florida House Allowing Massive Wine Bottles

WE. NEED. MORE. WINE.

Wine lovers rejoice! The Florida House voted in favor of a new bill on Thursday that would remove size limits on wine bottles in Florida.

The bill (HB 6031) is set to repeal the current state law, which bans wine from being sold in any container larger than a gallon. Currently, doing so is a misdemeanor. The House passed the measure nearly unanimously with a 117-1 vote. That one vote against the bill must not be much of a wine lover.

Lighthouse Point Republican Rep. Chip LaMarca is the bill sponsor.

The bill would allow wine bottles of all sizes, which includes the “Nebuchadnezzar” (pictured below), which holds 15 liters, or the volume of 20 standard wine bottles.
