The Bill To Make Strawberry Shortcake the New FL Dessert Moves To Next Step

This is undoubtedly the sweetest bill in the legislative session. The legislation aims to knock out Key Lime Pie as Florida's state dessert and replace it with Strawberry Shortcake.

The legislation (HB 567), filed by Dover Republican Rep. Lawrence McClure, cleared its first committee on Wednesday morning, bringing it one step closer to becoming a reality.

The bill also reflects onto the 2000 Guinness Book of World Records that gave recognition to Plant City as the home of the largest shortcake in the world!
