The city of Clearwater is improving beach accessibility by unveiling 2 new free motorized beach wheelchairs.
The city made this announcement on Tuesday saying that the wheelchairs are free to use for beachgoers with special needs, making it much easier for everyone to see the beautiful beach.
The new wheelchairs can be found at Clearwater Beach Lifeguard Tower #0, located at 180 S. Gulfview Blvd, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. They can support up to 300 pounds, are operated by a joystick, and include safety features, such as an anti-tip balance, safety belts, and all-terrain tires.
