Harvey Weinstein Tests Positive for Coronavirus in New York Prison

Convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein has tested positive for COVID-19 in a New York prison outside of Buffalo, just a few days after he began serving his 23-year sentence.

The 68-year-old sexual predator is one of two inmates in the prison to have contracted the infectious disease. Weinstein is being isolated at Wende Correctional Facility in Western New York, and the Niagra-Gazette reports some officials believe the former Hollywood producer had the virus before entering the prison. Weinstein may have contracted the novel coronavirus while he was at Rikers Island, a New York City jail, or while he was in a New York City hospital due to chest pains and high blood pressure.

Three state corrections officers have tested positive for COVID-19, and numerous others are being monitored.
