$20,000 Reward For Information on Recent Dolphin Stabbings

Wild life officials are offering thousands of dollars in reward, if you can help identify the suspects responsible for the deaths of two dolphins.

Last week a dolphin was found dead off Pensacola Beach, it had been impaled with a spear-like object.

In the same week a dolphin washed up on the beach in Naples, it appeared to have been shot or impaled in the head.

Investigators say the wild dolphins may have been fed, which removes their fear of people and boats, and that increases the chances they could be injured or killed.

Call the NOAA Enforcement Hotline at (800) 853-1964, if you information about these dolphin deaths.

You could be eligible for as much as $20,000 in reward money.

According to NOAA "Since 2002, at least 29 dolphins (including these two new cases) have stranded in the Southeast U.S.

There is evidence they were shot by guns or arrows or impaled with objects like fishing spears. Four incidents have occurred within the last year."
