TALLAHASSEE -- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has declared a state of emergency in 26 counties due to Hurricane Dorian's potential path, including Miami-Dade, Broward, Orange, Palm Beach, and Duval. The declaration essentially covers all counties on the east coast and several inland counties as well.
The State Emergency Operations Center will activate Thursday morning. DeSantis says he will continue to monitor Dorian with emergency officials.
Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz says the storm's track has been changing and could continue to evolve.
