Potential Tropical System Could Dump Rain on Florida Gulf Coast

MIAMI -- Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center say there's an 80 per cent chance a system over Georgia will become a tropical depression over the northeastern Gulf by Friday.

The system has a 30 percent chance of development by Wednesday, according to Dennis Feltgen at the NHC.

The National Weather Service says areas around Tallahassee could see four to six inches of rain, and Panama City... still getting back on its feet after last year's Hurricane Michael... could receive six to eight inches of rain over the next seven days.

City officials in Tallahassee have set up four locations to fill sandbags because of potential flooding.
