The Seattle Mariners (66-53) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (57-62) 6-3 on Sunday afternoon in Seattle. With the loss, the Rays have been swept by the Mariners in the Pacific Northwest.
The Mariners four runs in the first inning, including a two-run homer from Cal Releigh, that would prove to be the difference in the game. The Rays got single runs in the second, third and fourth to pull within 4-3, but Seattle pulled away with single runs in the seventh and eighth.
The Rays will now head to Sacramento to begin a three-game series with the As coming up on Monday night. First pitch Monday is scheduled for 10:05 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage with the Inside Pitch at 9:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
