Rays Snap Skid, Blank Dodgers

The Tampa Bay Rays (55-57) blanked the Los Angeles Dodgers (64-47) 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Steinbrenner Field to even the three-game series at a game apiece. The win snaps a four-game losing streak for Tampa Bay.

The Rays offense was powered by the long ball, as Yandy Diaz hit a solo homer in the first and a two-run shot in the third to give the Rays a 3-0 lead. Junior Caminero added a solo homer in the fourth that made it a 4-0 game.

Yandy's two homers came off of former Ray Blake Snell (1-1, 3.21) who allowed three earned runs on five hits while striking out eight and walking none. Drew Rasmussen (9-5, 2.81) got the win for the Rays, pitching five and one-third shutout innings on four hits while striking out six and walking none.

The Rays will now try to win the three-game series against the Dodgers coming up on Sunday afternoon. Joe Boyle (1-1, 2.82) to scheduled to start for the Rays and face Yoshinobu Yamamoto (9-7, 2.63) for the Dodgers. First pitch Sunday is scheduled for 12:10 PM - pregame coverage begins with Chris Adams-Wall hosting This Week in Rays Baseball at 10:30 AM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
