Rays Avoid Sweep, Beat Twins In Extras

The Tampa Bay Rays (49-41) defeated the Minnesota Twins (43-47) 7-5 on Sunday afternoon in Minnesota. With the win, the Rays avoided being swept in the three-game series in Minneapolis.

Tied 4-4 after nine, the Rays got a RBI double from Yandy Diaz to take the lead. Jose Caballero added a run with a sacrifice bunt, before Junior Caminero hit a sacrifice fly to make it 7-4. The Twins got one back in their half off the tenth, but not enough as the Rays held on to this win.

The Rays now head to Detroit and begin a three-game series with the Tigers coming up on Monday night. First pitch Monday is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
