The Miami Marlins (17-26) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (20-24) 9-4 on Friday night in Miami to win the opener of the three-game series.
The Marlins got to Taj Bradley (3-3, 4.80) for five earned runs on six hits in four innings of work, then added four big runs in the sixth inning to pull away.
The Rays will now look to even the series with the Marlins coming up on Saturday afternoon. First pitch Saturday is scheduled for 4:10 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 3:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
