The Tampa Bay Rays (11-14) defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks (14-11) 7-4 on Thursday night in Arizona. It was the second straight extra-inning win for the Rays, who won the interleague three-game interleague series against the Diamondbacks.
Down 3-4 going into the ninth inning, Yandy Diaz hit a RBI single in the ninth to tie the game 4-4. In extras, Junior Caminero hit a ground-rule double to break the tie 5-4. Christopher Morel put the game out of reach when he blasted a two run home run moments later to help the Rays earn the 7-4 win.
The Rays now travel to San Diego and will play a three-game series beginning on Friday night. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 9:40 PM - pregame coverage begins at 9:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
