Rays Offense Erupts To Lead Tampa Bay To Series Win Over Brewers

The Tampa Bay Rays (34-13) defeated the Milwaukee Brewers (24-21) 8-4 on Saturday evening at Tropicana Field. The Rays have now won the three-game interleague series to begin a long homestand.

After Harold Ramirez hit a solo homer in the first, Yandy Diaz hit a three-run blast in the second to give the Rays an early 4-0 lead. Though Milwaukee pulled within 4-3, a solo homer from Christian Bethancourt and a RBI single from Manuel Margot in the bottom of the fourth helped the Rays pull away.

Zach Eflin (6-1, 3.45) earned the win after allowing three earned runs in seven innings in which he struck out eight and walked four. Jason Adam got the final two outs of the game for his sixth save of the year.

The Rays will now look to sweep Milwaukee in the series finale on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Neil Solondz hosting This Week In Rays Baseball at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620 your Home of Rays Baseball.
