(Starke, FL) - 74-year-old Convicted killer Dennis Sochor on death row for 40 years is scheduled to be executed tonight.

His death will make history as the oldest inmate to ever be put to death in the state.

Yes, Dennis Ray Spencer, was technically two weeks older than Sochor when he was executed on June 25, 2026. But, Sochor has been kept alive 19 days longer than Spencer.

He was convicted of the 1982 murder of Patty Gifford in Broward County. She was sexually assaulted and strangled after a New Year's Eve party, but her remains were never found.

Gifford's family plans to attend the execution and still hopes he reveals where he left her body.

Florida is expected to break the age record again July 18th when 80-year-old Dominick Occhicone is scheduled to die for killing his former girlfriend's parents in 1986.
