(Tallahassee, FL) - The Florida house members have begun their special session on redistricting, declining to consider vaccine or AI issues.
Committee chair Rep Jenna Persons-Mulicka Fort Myers says lawmakers feel confident moving forward on the maps presented by the governor's office.
Adding that they will remain compliant with the US Constitution.
She says new Congressional maps do not need to go before the voters but can be challenged in court. Meanwhile, the House declined to advance two issues involving vaccine parental choice based on conscience and AI regulation.
House Speaker Daniel Perez says he is concerned about unvaccinated children attending school and believes the federal government should take the lead on AI.
Governor DeSantis blasting the House members on social media calling their refusal to consider restrictions on artificial intelligence or to repeal vaccine mandates "political shenanigans."
