Starting today, Floridians on SNAP can no longer buy soda, energy drinks, candy or ultra processed desserts. Denise Brown with Lifenet-For-Families in Ft. Lauderdale says while she promotes healthy choices, this takes power away from people who are already limited by economic constraints. Florida says it made the change to better align with SNAP's intended purpose of providing low-income households with a nutritious diet.
