Florida Atlantic University confirms that now three of the school's professors are on administrative leave while the university investigates their social media activity related to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
While a statement from FAU reads that they "do no comment on personnel matters," it did confirm that English professor Dr. Kate Polak joins finance professor Dr. Rebel Cole and art history professor Dr. Karen Leader on leave.
Polak told FAU’s student-run newspaper that she received an email placing her on paid administrative leave after replying to other users on Instagram’s Threads app about Kirk. She said the email did not specify which posts were at issue.
Leader is accused of sharing some quotes from Kirk out of context to put him in a negative light, while Cole is accused of targeting students and others who had posted negative things about Kirk or celebrated his assassination online.
