Tampa, FL - Tampa has been ranked as one of the top cities in the United States for retirees.
According to a recent WalletHub study, the research evaluated more than 180 cities nationwide using 45 key metrics to determine which locations provide the most retiree-friendly environments.
Tampa earned the fifth spot, following Orlando, Scottsdale, Minneapolis, and Miami.
The study assessed factors including cost of living, access to quality healthcare, local tax rates, availability of leisure and recreational activities, and opportunities for retirees to continue earning income if they choose.
“Selecting the right city for retirement is important, especially for those on a fixed income,” said Chip Lupo, WalletHub analyst.
“The cities that rank highest minimize expenses while offering strong healthcare and opportunities for active lifestyles.”
Orlando topped the list due to its low taxes and affordable homemaker services, which ranked ninth in the nation for cost.
Scottsdale, Minneapolis, and Miami also scored highly across healthcare quality, recreational opportunities, and overall affordability.
WalletHub’s analysis considered both the adjusted cost of living and annual costs for in-home services, providing a comprehensive view of financial accessibility for retirees.
The study also examined factors that contribute to overall quality of life, including healthcare access, entertainment options, and opportunities for part-time work.
Tampa’s ranking reflects its combination of affordable living, reliable medical services, and recreational amenities, making it an appealing option for retirees evaluating relocation.
The city offers a balance of financial considerations and lifestyle opportunities that contribute to retiree satisfaction.
