Miami Police officials report the crash occurred around 8:20 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the causeway.

The victim was identified as 54-year-old Fabian Moses.

He was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities said the juvenile rider was also taken to a hospital with facial injuries. The teen’s condition was reported as stable.

Police confirmed that the incident is under active investigation.

Any potential charges against the juvenile are pending, and no further details regarding the teen’s identity or the legality of the dirt bike on public roads have been released, in accordance with Florida law regarding minors.

Officials emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.

They have asked anyone with information related to the crash to contact the Miami Police Department.

The Rickenbacker Causeway has experienced traffic accidents in the past, and authorities have highlighted the importance of caution for cyclists and motorists, especially during nighttime hours when visibility is limited.
