Manatee County, FL - Manatee County deputies are investigating a shooting and stabbing incident that occurred Tuesday morning in Bradenton’s Silver Lake neighborhood, leaving two individuals injured but expected to survive.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call around 8 a.m. at a residence where a 21-year-old man was found outside suffering from two gunshot wounds.
While officers approached, 24-year-old Willie Hayes exited the home and allegedly told deputies he shot his brother after witnessing him stab his girlfriend.
Inside the residence, deputies located Hayes’ 23-year-old girlfriend in a bedroom with multiple stab wounds.
Emergency responders provided first aid to both victims on the scene before transporting them to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Both the man and woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.
The circumstances that led to the shooting and stabbing are still under investigation by Manatee County detectives.
Officials have not disclosed any further details about the motive behind the incident or the relationship dynamics between those involved.
As of now, it remains unclear if any charges will be filed related to the case.
Law enforcement continues to collect evidence and interview those connected to the event.
