Fort Lauderdale, FL - A man reportedly walked into two Fort Lauderdale businesses this week and exposed himself in broad daylight, sparking fear among store owners and prompting an active police investigation.
Fort Lauderdale police say they responded Tuesday to reports of a man allegedly engaging in lewd behavior on Sunrise Lane.
The suspect first entered a juice bar near the beach, where the owner said he was acting strangely before being asked to leave.
Moments later, the same man allegedly returned and began touching himself while staring at the owner.
She screamed, forcing him to flee. Shortly after, he was seen entering a nearby smoke shop, where he again allegedly exposed himself.
No injuries were reported during either incident.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is handling the case.
Officers identified a possible suspect based on early witness statements and security footage.
Investigators are now working to determine whether charges will be filed.
Additional reports from earlier that day indicate that a man matching the same description had allegedly exposed himself to a teenage girl near a school, attempting to lure her into his car.
The man, identified by police as 32-year-old Travis Davis, was already out on bond for a similar offense involving a 13-year-old girl in Lauderhill last October.
Davis was arrested and is currently being held without bond.
He faces charges including exposure of sexual organs and violating the conditions of his previous release.
Local business owners say they want to see more police patrols to help restore a sense of safety for both employees and customers.
