West Palm, FL - Brightline has reintroduced its monthly commuter pass for riders traveling between West Palm Beach and Miami, but commuters will now face a higher cost.
The pass, which previously included 40 one-way trips for $399, was discontinued in June 2024.
It’s now back, but with a new price tag of $899, representing a 125% increase from the original offer.
Riders have 30 days from the date of purchase to use the full number of trips, or the pass expires once all rides are taken, whichever comes first.
For those who travel less frequently, Brightline also offers smaller bundles.
A 20-ride pass between West Palm Beach and Miami is now priced at $549, and a 10-ride option costs $299.
Like the full commuter pass, these packages are also valid for 30 days or until all rides are used.
The pricing change has sparked online discussions from regular Brightline users, many of whom relied on the service for their daily commute and now question the affordability of the updated structure.
While Brightline has not released an official explanation for the sharp price hike, the company continues to invest in expanding its service, including new routes to Orlando and station upgrades throughout Florida.
The South Florida commuter pass had been a popular option for working professionals looking to avoid traffic on I-95, and its return, despite the steep price, offers some added flexibility for regular passengers.
