A Palm Beach County man is charged with making threats to conduct mass shootings.

Investigators say 22-year old Damien Allen of Loxahatchee had 18 guns, and 12,000 rounds of ammo, and threatened to target seven different locations.

"This guy was ready to go, had all the equipment, had the propensity to do it. It was just a matter of what day was going to set him off to go do it."

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says Allen had exchanged romantic and racist messages on social media with the teenage girl who would later shoot up a Christian school in Wisconsin, killing two. Natalie Rupnow was shot dead by police during her rampage last December.

Among his alleged targets were churches and law enforcement agencies, though no specifics were provided.

And Bradshaw says "There's no doubt in my mind what he was going to do."

Allen has no previous arrest record.

The Sheriff calls it "disturbing that somebody could get these type of items off the internet. It baffles me to be honest with you."

Allen faces state charges of threatening a mass shooting and police impersonation and could face federal charges as well, as the FBI is investigating.
