Venice, FL - A homeowner in Venice, Florida captured a surprising encounter on her Ring doorbell camera when two large alligators were seen on her front porch.
The reptiles were recorded lingering near the entrance of the home, with one standing upright and pressing its snout against the front door.
The video, originally posted to Reddit before being deleted, showed the alligators pacing near the doorway.
One of the animals appeared to stand on its hind legs and lean against the door, while the second remained on the porch.
Social media users reacted to the video with a mix of humor and concern.
\While some commenters joked about the reptiles’ behavior, others highlighted the potential danger posed by wildlife venturing into residential areas.
WINK News Chief Meteorologist Matt Devitt later shared additional context on social media, posting that a separate incident occurred nearby in which an alligator reportedly pushed through a screen door and entered a home.
In that case, the homeowner was in the living room when she heard a noise and discovered the alligator in her kitchen.
Authorities removed the animal without injury.
Wildlife officials continue to advise Florida residents to remain alert, especially in areas near water.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission recommends securing screen doors and reporting any sightings of aggressive or unusually close alligators to ensure public safety.
