A heartfelt salute by the West Palm Beach Police Department for one of its veteran officers who is moving on after three decades of service.

"Attention all units! After 30 years of service with the West Palm Beach Police Department, Master Police Officer Kris Thomas is retiring."

In a video on Facebook, the agency notes that Officer Thomas honorably served the citizens of West Palm Beach as a field training officer, a member of the street crimes unit, the Dive Team and as part of the downtown bicycle team.

His children also got in on the salute, before Thomas got on the radio in front of several members of his team...

"I'd like to thank my West Palm Beach family for all the memories and wish everyone the best of luck in the future."

He received a standing ovation.

West Palm PD notes that Officer Thomas has been recognized as Officer of the Quarter and received numerous letters of recognition and commendation for his commitment to public safety.
