Detectives from the Treasure Coast are headed to Georgia to further investigate the murder of a woman.

The body of 58-year old Toni-Lynn Trabb was found inside a room at a Best Western in Port St. Lucie Monday.

Carlos Tito Caban was taken into custody after being found driving the victim's car in Tifton, Georgia with another woman in the vehicle.

Lieutenant Andrew Bolonka with the St. Lucie Sheriff's Office says the suspect met that woman in Orlando.

"During their interaction, Caban told her that he was going to be traveling to New York. She said that she had nothing to do and asked if she could go along for the ride. And thus the adventure began."

He says Caban is a registered sex offender who had been dating Trabb on and off for the past few months while living in Fort Pierce.

He is not yet charged in her murder and officials have still not said how she died.
