A state senate bill that would prevent frivolous local obstruction of the construction and operation of a presidential library in Florida has advanced.
Senator Jason Brodeur said his bill will provide maximum flexibility for presidents, like Donald Trump to construct they type of historic landmark in Florida.
The bill passed the Rules Committee today with the promise that all local, state and federal planning laws and building codes would still apply.
Sen. Brodeur said, "I certainly don't think they would want to construct anything that would inhibit visitors. I anticipate that this will be a pretty popular attraction as he is likely the most famous developer in the world right now."
The House's version cleared its first subcommittee last week.
It's believed a Trump presidential library could be built at either Boca Raton's Florida Atlantic or Miami's Florida International University.
