University of Miami Participating in Breakthrough Paralysis Study

A new study at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine could be a breakthrough for paralysis patients.

The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and the Department of Neurological Surgery have been selected to become the second U.S.-based site for Neuralink’s PRIME Study.

The Precise Robotically Implanted Brain-Computer Interface aims to enable paralyzed patients to use their own thoughts to control external devices through a brain-computer interface.

The device assists patients who otherwise have limited or no use of both hands due to a spinal cord injury or ALS.
