Fort Lauderdale, FL - The first-ever dedicated pickleball stadium has officially opened in Fort Lauderdale, just north of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Known as The Fort, the sprawling nine-acre facility boasts 43 pickleball courts, including 14 weatherproof options designed for all-weather play.
Beyond the courts, it offers a comprehensive lakeside entertainment complex featuring dining, retail shops, and recreational activities that cater to both players and spectators.
Located within the expansive 93-acre Snyder Park and adjacent to FLL airport, The Fort is more than just a sports venue.
It houses a 4,000-square-foot event center, luxury suites, and unique attractions like golf simulators, a dart room, volleyball courts, paddleboarding, and a game yard complete with live music.
In addition to its recreational offerings, the stadium will host fundraising events and provide pickleball equipment and training to every public school in Fort Lauderdale, ensuring the sport’s accessibility to local youth.
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis praised the project, telling Local 10 News WPLG, “This collaboration showcases the incredible possibilities that arise when the public and private sectors work together for the benefit of our community, creating more than 100 jobs and making a significant economic impact on our city; aligning perfectly with Fort Lauderdale’s commitment to be a world-class live-work-play city.”
The Fort had its soft opening in mid-January, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for April 2024.
