North Florida Blanketed In Snow

Governor Ron DeSantis is taking to social media to give an update on the winter wallop hitting North Florida saying: "Overnight, we worked to clear hundreds of miles of roadways, and utility crews are working to restore power to those who experienced disruptions."

I-10 is expected to remain closed due to ice between the Alabama/Florida state line and U.S. 90, but Bay County Fire Rescue and Bay County Sheriff’s Office report - while slick - many of the roads are passable. The biggest issues are the West Bay and DuPont bridges

Franklin County bridges remain icy... but open

Jackson County and the Apalachicola River Bridge are shut down.

The latest update from PowerOutage.us has more than 6,000 Floridians in the dark. Most of them are in Wakulla County.

DeSantis recommends people stay off the roads, if possible because many of them are still icy.

There are many delayed flights so call your carrier before leaving for the airport.

North Florida school districts are expected to reopen Friday except for Walton County Schools which will reopen on Monday.
