The U.S. One bridge in Jupiter has partially reopened after nearly two years of construction.
Drivers can now cross the Loxahatchee River with one lane of traffic open in each direction.
The bridge reopened ahead of schedule as it happened just before the New Year and the phase of construction wasn't expected to wrap up until early 2025. The past 22 months of detours caused headaches for commuters and businesses in the area.
The Florida Department of Transportationās $122 million replacement project began in March of 2023.
While pedestrians can now use the newly opened sidewalk, bicyclists will have to wait for a planned striped bike lane, which will come with the eastern span and remaining two lanes.
The entire project is about 74% complete, with full lane access expected by spring 2025 and final completion anticipated by early 2026.
