Escaped Dog Tied To South Florida Stop Sign Reunited With Owner

Hollywood, FL - A senior dog found tied to a stop sign in Hollywood has been reunited with his owner, thanks to a good Samaritan and local news coverage.

Early Wednesday morning, following a night of fireworks, a gray and white senior dog was discovered abandoned at the corner of West Park Road and North 34th Avenue in Hollywood, Florida.

Local resident Lori Baer spotted the distressed canine around 5 a.m. and was horrified by the situation.

With assistance from Hollywood Police, Baer and her neighbors rescued the dog, providing him with food, water, and a comfortable place to rest in her backyard throughout the day.

Baer recounted hearing nonstop barking and, upon investigation, found the dog tied to the stop sign in the early morning darkness.

Determined to find the dog's owner or a new home, she began her search.

According to WSVN 7 News, minutes after their story aired about the good Samaritan's efforts, the dog's owner, Nayima Soto, came forward.

Soto explained that her dog, named Bullet, had escaped her backyard during the fireworks, and she was unaware of who had tied him to the stop sign.

She expressed gratitude for Baer's actions, acknowledging that they likely facilitated Bullet's safe return home.

This heartwarming reunion highlights the impact of community involvement and media coverage in reuniting lost pets with their owners.
