Stuart, FL - A Florida surfer has been bitten by a shark for the second time in 11 years, this time sustaining serious injuries to both feet.
The attack occurred on Friday afternoon when a shark, believed to be a bull or tiger shark, bit Cole Taschman on both feet.
Taschman remained calm and collected following the attack, and with the help of his friends, applied tourniquets to control the bleeding while being rushed to the hospital.
Taschman received 93 stitches and had three tendons reattached tendons.
This isn't the first time Taschman has been attacked by a shark in the same location.
In 2013, he was bitten by a smaller shark while surfing in waist-deep water.
While shark attacks are relatively rare, Taschman's case highlights the importance of being aware of potential risks and taking necessary precautions.
Despite the ordeal, Taschman remains optimistic and plans to return to surfing in the future, albeit with added caution.
