Florida Universities Close Due To Hurricane Helene

Tallahassee, FL - Several Florida universities have announced closures in preparation for Hurricane Helene.

Florida State University (FSU), Florida A&M University (FAMU), Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), and the University of Florida (UF) have all taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of their students, faculty, and staff during the storm.

FSU's Tallahassee campus will be closed from 7 AM on Wednesday until 11 PM on Sunday. Normal operations are expected to resume at midnight on Monday.

FAMU has suspended all academic operations from 12:15 PM on Tuesday through Friday. Weekend events will be rescheduled.

FGCU's campus will be closed for all events and classes starting at 9 PM on Wednesday. The university will remain closed through Thursday, with a decision on Friday reopening to be made at 3 PM.

The University of South Florida (USF) has canceled all academic operations starting Wednesday and will not resume until midnight Monday. The university will be closed through Friday, with a reopening announcement scheduled for Saturday.

The University of Florida (UF) has announced that their campus will be closed on Thursday.
