Man Arrested For Alleged Upskirt Photos Of Women At Florida Grocery Store

Alachua County, FL - A 45-year-old man has been arrested by detectives on suspicion of taking upskirt photos of multiple unsuspecting women at a Florida grocery store.

The incident occurred in June of this year when deputies with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) were called to the store after reports of a suspicious individual taking pictures under customers’ skirts.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect, later identified as Thomas Burns, placing his cellphone in a shopping cart and using it to take pictures under the skirts of unsuspecting women.

Following an investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant and probable cause to arrest Burns.

He is currently being held on a $60,000 bond at the Alachua County jail.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office suspects Burns may have targeted other grocery stores and large retail chains in the area over the past two years.

Anyone who recognizes Burns or believes they may be a victim to contact Det. Adkins at madkins@acso.us.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as more victims come forward.
