LINK: Early Voting Begins In Miami-Dade County

Fourteen days of early voting gets underway today at 23 sites throughout Miami-Dade County ahead of the August 20th Primary Election.

Supervisor of Elections Christina White stresses not all races are primaries, in fact, "This election is, or could be, in essence, the general election for those nonpartisan races."

That includes county mayor, commissioners, school board members and judges.

She explains, "If the top vote getter receives 50% plus one of the vote, then they have won that election outright. If not, then the top two vote getters will proceed on to the November election."

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through Friday before the hours shift.

Not only can registered voters go to any of them, but they can also drop off their filled out and signed vote-by-mail ballots.

"We have drop boxes at all of our Early Voting locations during the days and hours of early voting. You can drop it off right into a box. We have an elections employee right there. They'll give you your sticker. It's the perfect hybrid," says White.

Early Voting gets underway in Broward on Saturday.
