Doral, FL - A Doral woman has been arrested after she allegedly left her 3-year-old son unattended for hours in an Airbnb while undergoing cosmetic surgery.
Authorities say the 3-year-old boy was found wandering the halls of a Doral apartment building alone on Thursday, sparking a police investigation that led to the arrest of his mother.
Jessica Renteria, 25, appeared in court on Friday on child neglect charges after residents at the APEX apartment complex reported seeing the toddler unsupervised.
According to police, security footage captured Renteria leaving the Airbnb apartment that she rented around 10:12 a.m.
Her son was later seen wandering the building by himself at approximately 1:13 p.m.
Concerned residents located the child sleeping outside a first-floor apartment shortly before 4:15 p.m.
Authorities located Renteria at a nearby hospital where she had undergone cosmetic surgery.
Renteria claimed she arranged for a friend to watch her son during the surgery, but the friend denied any knowledge of the situation.
Renteria was released on a $1,000 bond.
An investigation into Thursday's incident is ongoing.
