Naples, FL - A man with multiple DUIs was arrested following a high-speed chase with Southwest Florida deputies early Saturday morning.

Authorities say 50-year-old Alexander Cucu has been arrested on charges of DUI, fourth or subsequent offense, and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, Cucu caught deputies' attention around 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning after driving erratically on Tamiami Trail East near Bayshore Road in Naples.

Despite attempts to pull him over, Cucu reportedly accelerated, reaching speeds of 85 mph near Airport-Pulling Road.

Cucu's reckless driving continued as he weaved through traffic near Lakewood Boulevard, reaching speeds of 115 mph.

Deputies were able to apprehend Cucu using a PIT maneuver at the Treviso Bay intersection.

Cucu had a passenger in his vehicle, although no charges were filed against the passenger.

Cucu's string of prior DUI convictions, all from the state of Ohio, will factor into his sentencing.

He is currently facing charges of DUI, fourth or subsequent offense, and fleeing and eluding.
